We live in a world where our kids are exposed to scary news such as highly contagious outbreaks. This unit allows students to use the engineering design process to solve health-related problems. The activities will also help them learn about the properties of matter and human impacts on the environment. By investigating bacteria and viruses and researching ways to prevent the virus from spreading, my students will be empowered to realize they can help prevent and solve real-world problems. Fear turns to excitement as students prepare anti-virus models, care about the world, and share public service announcements!
