A kitchen, dress up clothing, and kitchen supplies will enhance students abilities to communicate with peer and adults, create self esteem in those who are shy and quiet, and improve students behaviors with sharing. Children imitate what they see and we want them to imitate warm, loving, caring people who enjoy life and enjoy family. Students enjoy playing dress up, they want to act out home life and they want to share themselves with us. THIS IS HOW. Through dramatic play, we learn more about our students home lives than through parent interviews. We learn who cooks, who cleans, and who listens and talks with their children. We want all children to have the outlets needed to express themselves and feel safe and loved.
