Every year, teachers struggle to keep their children’s determination to show learning gains when preparing for our standardized test (FSA) in April. The children easily become tired and burned out with all the test prep. My grade level has discovered a way to keep their motivation through the necessary test prep! The Carnival! Teachers who have done this have shared their students worked harder than ever before, so my entire grade level plans to implement this event! The students work hard demonstrating their learning gains, mastery of each skill, and earn tickets to attend the carnival as a reward. It’s a 2-3 week event, and it is a wonderful way for our students to review all they have learned through the year and apply their learning to the rigor of the FSA! Best of all, they are extremely focused and loving every moment WHILE LEARNING! Much, much better than the dread of boring test review! We need carnival games and decor to pull off this big event, so please consider donating.
