In literacy for 6th grade we study 5 novels - all different genres- throughout the year; Percy Jackson and the The Lightning Thief; Bud, Not Buddy; Flush; World without Fish; and Frightful's Mountain. Each book is different and we learn different skills each time we read. It is important to read both fictional and non-fictional books for all students, but it is especially important as mine are getting ready to enter junior high. These novels are used every day and the wear and tear on them is now preventing the students from reaching their full potential. To replace these books myself is far too costly and I hope that you will consider funding this project. This will help my students gain the most potential with our literacy curriculum and and prepare them for Junior High and High School.
