My students are hard-working kids who attend a large, high-needs secondary school located in an agrarian section of WA state. Over half of our population receives free or reduced meals (80% of whom qualify for free meals!). Many of our students are reading up to five years below grade level. But with committed teachers and determined students, we've implemented a reading program that is making incredible gains. Now we just need more high-interest texts to keep our kids motivated and improving as readers. These kids want to excel. They're hooked on reading and simply need more materials to help them grow as young, literate adults.

About my class
