Some of the items we chose include: Create a Maze, Magnetic Marble Run, and a Robot Factory Building Set. All of these activities are STEM related and are hands on. We also have included flexible seating options such as the Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seat and Flex-Space Wobble Cushions to give the students comfortable places to work. These materials will primarily be used for Morning Soft Start. As students work together on these activities, they will form connections and friendships with each other. This will foster a strong sense of community in the classroom and create a safe place for students to take risks and grow as learners. As the students are at their Soft Start Station, it allows me time to connect personally with each child. This daily individual check in builds my student/teacher relationship with each child and sets a positive tone for the day. Having a variety of Soft Start Activities allows for increased engagement and enables us to have fresh, new activities every 6 weeks.
