An important component of my students school day is their independent work time. However, successful independent work time is largely based on how motivated students are to complete their work while the teacher is working with a small group to reteach or challenge their classmates. Flexible seating motivates students by allowing them to choose the learning environment and flexible seating options to cultivate independence and accountability. With the standing desks, student carpets, wobble chairs, and standing ball options, students can choose the area that best fits their needs and the needs of the work they are doing. Flexible seating also allows for students to be able to collaborate with students around the room.

About my class
