Some of the items we chose include: Create-A-Maze, Magnetic Marble Run, and Robot Factory Building Set. All of these activities are STEM related and are hands-on. We also included comfy seats such as the Flex Space Comfy Floor Seat and Flex Space Wobble Cushions to give the kids comfy places to work. These materials will be used primarily for Morning Soft Start. As students work together on these activities, they will form connections and friendships. This will foster a strong sense of community in our classroom and create a safe place for students to take risks and grow as learners. As the students are at their Soft Start Station, it allows me time to connect personally with each child. This daily individual check in builds my student/teacher relationship with each child and sets a positive tone for their day. Having a variety of Soft Start activities allows for increased engagement and enables us to have to have fresh new activities every six weeks.
