Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) can be fun and engaging for all abilities. The teamwork and thinking out of the box sets great foundation skills at an early age. My students will work together using the Magnatiles, magnetic pattern blocks and STEM kits to design and create. Working together to design a plan and then put it into action is a great lesson for any situation. As these skills progress they can carry them over into outdoor play, dramatic play, reading skills, etc. The STEM storytelling kits will bring the reading to life as teams work to rebuild concepts from the story. My learners are noticeably more engaged in student led STEM activities. When the child feels they get a choice of what and how to build they are empowered. They make a connection to their own life and the learning becomes more meaningful and have a deeper impact.
