The supplies I am requesting will allow our classroom to achieve our highest level of potential with learning all of the required 2nd grade science standards. They will also give us the items we need to perform comprehensive S.T.E.M. experiments! Students need a strong foundation in science early on to excel in their later years. Right now our classroom shares supplies with the school and supplies are limited. Having immediate access to items such as balance scales, graduated cylinders, rock collections, etc. will make a huge difference with what we are capable of doing in class. The children will be able to compare weights, measure liquids, identify properties of various materials, etc. Children absorb so much more information when they are able to perform actual experiments and try things out for themselves. If you are able to contribute to this project, you are helping make science a reality for these children; not just something they read about in books. Also, our classes are departmentalized. This means I am teaching two science classes instead of one. Therefore, when you donate, you are actually helping 40 students achieve their science goals! Every dollar helps and we thank you in advance for your generosity. Gooo science!
