Being from a rural community and a small school system, our classrooms currently have a traditional model filled with direct instruction and textbooks. We also do not have student computers in our classrooms at this time. Having a classroom set of Chromebooks would allow me to introduce some technology-driven assignments and activities that would enhance the current learning experience of our students. Students today thrive with the use of technology; by adding this to the traditional classroom it would let me take my instruction to a whole new platform. With access to a Chromebook for every student, I would be able to provide individualized instruction and support for students that are struggling, absent, etc, while also providing extension activities for early finishers and my Gifted students. Having a one-to-one classroom, which is the goal, would allow me to not only enhance the educational experience for the whole group but reach each type of learner on an individualized level.
