Sensory integration is the process through which our senses work together. Individuals use sensory messages to learn, play and interact with the world. Many of my students display Autism, integrating sensory into their day is critical. The addition of these sensory items such as the small trampoline, will help improve my students behavior, communication, function and successful participation in daily life. Some students have designated times which they would benefit from time in the sensory room, while others could come to the room when needed. For many students loud noises such as the cafeteria are too much, having the sensory room, would be a great place to go during these difficult times.
