There is research stating that flexible seating arrangements enhance the students' ability to learn. All of my students are unique and have their own way of learning. Not a single one of them learn the exact same way. I believe that flexible seating arrangements will provide increased engagement and motivation. Many of my students like to wiggle and jiggle in their seats. They have a hard time just sitting or standing and frankly, it gets in the way of their learning. If my students were given the choice to sit wherever they felt comfortable learning on balance balls or comfortable seating on the floor, they would be much more engaged and will be excited to learn even at their desks!
