Growing professionally, I am researching the most beneficial and empowering learning environment for my students; and 21st century learning can be developed by providing flexible seating in the classroom. The benefits of flexible seating like wiggle stools, balance balls, and chair cushions allows students to feel empowered by having choice in choosing what best fits their learning style. It also promotes collaboration and communication which is vital for the real world. Research also shows that many flexible seating options stimulate a student's sense of touch which can help with their focus and processing of their information. I believe in providing students a fun and engaging classroom that meets their needs.
