The biggest struggle facing our students is helping them navigate the school day. We help them do this by creating visual and sensory prompts to help guide their attention throughout the day. One of our most powerful tools is using photos to illustrate and model expectations. We also use them to label just about everything so that students can more easily stay organized and find exactly what they are looking for. By using pictures instead of words we are able to bypass any literacy limitations that would normally limit their ability to use labels effectively. Colorful tape with highlight boundaries and important focal points. Fidgets help students regulate during stressful situations.
