A standing work space option will provide students with a choice in the classroom. Our class periods are 90+ minutes long. It is nice for students to have a variety of work space choices. The options will allow for autonomy and self-directed learning. It is important for students to become self-aware and make good decisions to enhance their own learning. Students enjoy having choices in their seating. The carpet will allow a differentiated area for working on the floor. Sometimes students like laying down while they work. The Bistro tables will allow for standing while working. Both items will create a more conducive learning environment.
