These materials will give my students a chance to learn the skills through hands-on activities. Learning through play is a lot more effective than seeing it in a book or on a computer screen. They will be able to learn in a small group with their peers. The use of hands-on materials will always be the best way for students to retain knowledge. Learning about where places are in the world using maps or seeing pictures of U.S.symbols is far more interesting than reading about it in a book. The math activities will help reinforce skills students have learned in a whole group lesson. They will be great for reviewing past lessons. The science activities will bring science to life. Observing actual plant growth will really excite the students. The hands on tools like the gram weights and prism lenses will help students complete science labs in class.
