Our students tend to be low lexile readers, which means most of our students are at least 3 reading grade levels below where they should be. I teach in a special education self contained classroom and 4 integrated classrooms. By offering my students a wide variety of books to read according to their interests, I want to instill the love of reading and help them improve both their reading ability levels and comprehension skills. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and they love the fact that they have so many choices to choose from in out classroom.
