These underserved students are reading and writing between 1 and 5 years below their grade levels. There are such vast gaps in skills and varying targets, that class and group instruction will not be enough to help these students close the gap. In order to maximize students’ potentials, I will use my own funds to implement a personalized online literacy program where each student can receive a catered curriculum based on continual individual assessments and identified specific learning needs. Through this educational suite of applications, Teachers can assess, monitor, and tailor the individualized instruction required in order to effectively increase literacy. These students need a class set of Chromebooks to use this program. In addition, they will learn to use all academic tools and interfaces across Google platforms. This current project is requesting 10 Chromebooks. I will write an additional project for the remaining 9 Chromebooks I need for our students. Please, please help balance the financial inequity in education, and give these bright, talented students the opportunity to attain the success they’re both capable of and deserve. Thank you so much for making a difference!
