By providing designated sectioned space, students will feel more safe in their own area and be even more likely to participate in lessons and in partner activities during class. This sectioned carpet would make our time together more meaningful, as we would use this carpet multiple times throughout the day, during mini-lessons, read-aloud, science and STEM conversations and activities/experiments, just to name a few. With a sectioned carpet, students would be able to easily find their space and be ready to participate. For my students with social/emotional needs, this sectioned carpet would help us learn appropriate boundaries and personal space guidelines.
