Expecting students to create a sound with a substitute instrument is like asking a carpenter to build a house with improper tools. Crotales are becoming standard in the percussion and concert band repertoire. Students will feel as if they are 'on-par' with other programs in the country, instead of discovering they cannot perform a piece of music because the instrument required was not available to the program. Keeping up with the latest musical demand will spark an interest into other percussion instruments and music. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve our opportunities to perform new literature, you will help increase a student’s confidence in what our program can accomplish. My students are eager learners that desire to increase their musical knowledge and appreciation through percussive musical opportunities. Whenever a student has the ability to play a new instrument, they have never played before occurs and their joy cannot be contained. Giving this to my students would be a tremendous boost to their percussion program. Purchasing Crotales will enhance more than just the percussion students; it will improve the whole band program. .
