Class size is a real issue facing educators today! This project will help me maintain order in my class of 32 kindergarten students by giving definite boundaries in which they will sit during carpet time. Currently, we have a very small class rug and students have trouble identifying a spot that is their own. Some even have to sit on the cold tile floor because the carpet is not large enough to accommodate all of my students. With your help, I hope to purchase this carpet with squares that will provide each student with their own space on which to sit during our carpet activities. We will use it to gather for calendar time, whole group instruction and daily meet ups (an activity to support positive social and emotional growth in students). This will also be used as a space where students can read quietly on their own and as a flexible seating area during centers.
