As much as my students enjoy singing, moving, and composing, what they love best is to play instruments! While my classroom is equipped with small hand percussion instruments like egg shakers and rhythm sticks, we need large, authentic instruments to provide students with a wider variety of sounds, skills, and experiences. Tubano drums have been specially designed for classrooms by master music educators and master drummers from West Africa. Drums like these provide students with the opportunity to explore music from around the world. Tubanos can be played with hand or sticks, and many curriculum resources are available to help integrate the whole world of music into the school classroom. With an international student body, our students deserve instruments of the highest quality representing their backgrounds. Students from Pre-K to 5th grade enjoy learning with these wonderful drums!
