These materials use research-based methods to engage young readers and help them truly understand what they're reading. The kit used close reading passages, writing prompts, compare and contrast activities, high interest texts, and structured progression that goes beyond standard ELA curriculum to make reading comprehension make sense. My students learn differently, and the materials in this kit will engage their visual and kinesthetic learning styles, while scaffolding learning objectives and building on their foundational knowledge. Paired passages teach reading and writing skills required on state testing and skills they will continue to use personally and professionally throughout their entire lives.
