My students are coming back to class with a variety of needs. Some of those needs are simply fundamental needs, like having enough food to eat to be able to focus and engage with academics. I cannot keep up with even this simplest of needs on my own, so this would go a long way in providing that extra food support for students. The other supplies help enhance the class by allowing my to demonstrate concepts with hands on materials. These demonstrations are engaging but not always easy to accommodate because of the extra expenses. With the classrooms becoming more digitally connected, some of the supplies are helping me transform my class to better meet the needs of digital learners. Providing extra chargers, cords and things like that helps students stay online and engaged if they forget items at home or run out of battery.
