By grades 3-5, students are working on increasingly complex content, and fluency with basic facts makes that content easier to master. The three-corner flashcards will allow my students to practice both multiplication and division, focusing on the relationship between the two operations, and helping them grow more comfortable with these facts. The arrays on the cards provide a visual that helps cement the relationship among these numbers. With 20 sets, I can check them out and send them home with students that need them most. We can keep a few sets in the classroom to practice here, either individually or with a partner. Games are a fantastic way to improve fact fluency, bringing the fun into this foundational skill. The games will provide my students with an opportunity to practice their number sense in all operations, again building comfort with how numbers work together. Students (and adults!) can play together, practicing both strategy and facts as confidence grows.
