Benjamin Franklin cut through a lot of educational jargon when he made the statement, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." Students will be able to teach their families about grade level Essential Skills. This program provides the infrastructure that allows students to become the teachers at home. In the process of teaching a family member about an essential skill, the student is involved and learns. With students translating their learning to their families, we will have built a bridge into the student's home. When learning is connected deeply across a student's life, it is much more likely that new skills will be mastered.
