Do you enjoy sitting in the same uncomfortable chair everyday for 8 hours straight? No? Me either! So why do we make children suffer through this fate, day after day in school? I would like to give my students the ability to pick a seat that makes them productive in their learning and independent work. I believe flexible seating will do precisely that! Giving children a multitude of options to do their best work is so beneficial to creating a class of lifelong learners. When I picked these options, I went for a variety of seats, to really help each child pick the seating arrangement that works best for them. Some students like sitting on the floor with an individual desk at the appropriate height. For that reason, I selected the bean bag chairs, as well as the, Flex-Space Student Lap Desks. Others, like to sit on the floor and collaborate together, which is why I picked the Flex-Space Collaborative Floor Work Space Bundle. Some children, don't want to sit on an uncomfortable chair, but rather a comfortable stool, which is why I chose the SO Plastic Stack Stools. With these options, children will be able to concentrate on the task at hand, rather than thinking about how uncomfortable they are at the standard desks and seats the school provides. My students are really into hands on activities. They are truly some of the most creative thinkers that I've had the privilege of teaching. They enjoy projects and challenges in ways that I've never seen before. I picked the STEM Bundle and Botley the Coding Robot for those exact reasons. I know my students will flip when they see these interactive sets. They probably won't even realize that they're learning, because they'll be having so much fun with them!
