Every child can become a reader, but they need carefully selected books that are at their individual Guided Reading Level. Our beginning readers in first grade are reading Guided Reading Level A, B, and C books. They need to read a lot of these books to master the skills to get them to the next Guided Reading Level. These books will allow me to get many titles into their hands and give them the confidence to see themselves as readers. The more students read, the more skills they obtain, the more skills they obtain, the more books they can read. It is a cycle that reinforces itself. Thanks for considering this project.

About my class
