As a resource teacher, I work with students who are struggling in general education classrooms. They are typically 1-2 years behind peers in one or more academic areas. Most of my students are behind because they have a hard time concentrating. They may have a diagnosis of ADHD, or just some of its symptoms. They may be stuck reading "baby" level books, or stuck trying to learn math concepts they remember seeing last year but never really grasped. The work my students need to review is more difficult for them than for most, and now this work on basic skills is not even new, so it's a little BORING! It's HARD for my students to focus, even though they really want to do well and catch up! They need all the help we can give them. I've seen these Hokki stools in other classrooms in my district, and they REALLY help many students stay on task. Most of the groups I work with are small, so 4 stools will make a big difference!
