I have always offered a few different types of seating options for my students but would like to fully incorporate flexible seating this year. I encourage my students to be scientists and explorers when they enter my Science and Social Studies classroom; the special furniture would allow students to have their choice of seating to be productive to experiments and creative projects. During my 90 minute classes, flexible seating will have many benefits for the students. Flexible seating gives students the choice to decide where they will be comfortable to learn, provides movement during a long class period, helps with collaboration between students to complete a task and also aids with sensory input to help students to focus on the lessons. Calming colors flex space seats, wobble seats and beanbag seats will provide students with some options of furniture to choose from while they work on their assignments.
