Students spend a lot of time copying information to use when needed. This is mainly done while they are on the carpet. They will copy this information from anchor charts displayed on an easel. My students will use the clipboards to copy information held on the easel for reference into further knowledge. Currently, I have to attach the chart to the wall and they have to use a book to steady their paper. Having clipboards on which to write allows them to concentrate on the words, not on balancing their papers! Having an easel gives me flexibility to move it around the room where it can best be seen.
