My students really want to read good books! But our school only has class sets of old books that they have lost interest in. I read with my homeroom morning. They are already talking about the upcoming movie, "The Hate U Give". I what them to have an opportunity to enjoy the book before they see the movie. They would be so excited to finally read a book with a current theme. Being able to read and make connections to events that happen in our society would encourage them to read more often. I just want to set them love books like I do!
