My second grade students live in South Florida. They are the sweetest bunch of kids you could ever meet. They love to do activities at school and love to be complimented when they get it right. They come from diverse backgrounds so they require extra time to learn the skills. They are from low income families which is the reason they are lacking they supplies they need for school. They get frustrated because when they want to do something and they don't have the tools they need to do the work, it becomes a problem for all. They have to learn to deal with the frustration and sometimes share the supplies so that the work can get done. Some of them handle the problem with no complain. However there are others that the problem is too much for them. The school is a low income school so asking for supplies is pointless. As a teacher I try to keep supplies handy, but having to constantly supply 33 students can run a high bill. These students deserve a chance to succeed.
