My students need these Spanish books to read in class and at home. They lost their books at home due to Hurricane Harvey and parents do not have the resources to get new ones. My kindergarten students will read these Spanish books in class and take every day 2 or 3 books home to read. Sharing reading with the parents will make them create connections to the real world to become successful readers and appreciate the importance of literacy. Also, parents will get involved in their children education supporting them at home and establishing a better family and school relationship.
