My students are residents of the City of Richmond, Virginia who come from diverse backgrounds and from a spectrum of economic advantage and disadvantage. As a Civics & Economics teacher I am privileged to introduce these students to the basic tenants American governance: respect for individual rights, "enlightened citizenship," equality of opportunity, and the structures of our democratic republic. We also initiate a study in economic concepts and unpack the ways that value is expressed and wealth flows in our state, country, and the world. Our classroom is nestled in the historic Museum District in Richmond where the school feels like a family, and the surrounding community is engaged in uplifting students, teachers, and administrators. We strive to pursue learning with excellence and resourcefulness, working together every day to build an enlightened student body. We are lucky to be the Albert Hill Tigers!
