The electronic scale will allow students to measure mass more accurately, use their time more efficiently and reach the lesson's objective more quickly when measuring the masses of various objects. They have previously learned to use manual triple beam balances during measuring labs, however for most of the year measuring practice is not the objective of the lesson. Instead, students are working to prove their hypotheses through experiment ion, collecting and analyzing data while investigating various properties in order to find answers to their lines of inquiry. Students will use this lab tool frequently throughout the school year, benefiting from its accuracy and speed.
