I have the pleasure of teaching Language Arts to amazing seventh and eighth graders in a close-knit environment. We are still new to the middle school grades, and for the first time (in the 2018/2019 school year) we have our first "graduating" 8th grade class. We have also just begun a Journalism class which will be creating new precedents for our future 8th grade classes: a school newspaper and yearbook. In addition to learning different aspects of journalism, the class incorporates higher-order critical thinking skills such as evaluating sources, argumentative/informative writing, and analyzing writing styles. I want the best for my students and promise to continue to strive to give them quality instruction in Language Arts. Therefore, I am often looking for ways to enhance our curriculum and to make learning meaningful. Thank you in advance for your support!
