The students in my classroom are considered to be in the most restrictive setting due to their severe problem behaviors. Sensory supports for students with Autism who display problematic behaviors has been proven to reduce the behaviors to the point that learning in an academic setting is possible. These supports will enable my students to receive the sensory stimulation necessary for them to control behaviors that inhibit communication which interfere with academic learning. These items will be available throughout the school day to help them manage emotions, frustration and all sensory needs.
