We need books for our classroom library. This project is designed to update both our classroom library and our read-aloud selection. The classroom library is something that each student has access to and chooses books that are interesting to them. Updating this will enhance their engagement in reading. The read-aloud selection provides exposure to concepts and vocabulary that make reading exciting. The books that are currently in our classroom library are 20-40 years old and are neither engaging nor exciting. The photos as well as content are something that students will struggle to connect to; by updating the selections of books in our classroom, we are also updating the level of engagement and learning in our classroom.
