One of my jobs in the classroom is to foster social skills and teach skills needed to be successful in everyday life. Having these tools for my students will be a valuable part of their education. Using this critical daily living-learning environment will be an essential part of our day. Our class can incorporate many lessons into this functional play area of our room. Through the kitchen alone, we can explore healthy versus unhealthy choices, food vocabulary, kitchen vocabulary, and the function of different tools that are regularly found in a kitchen.
