Due to COVID 19, my pre k classroom will look very different. To stop the spread of COVID, students will no longer be able to share materials as they have in the past. Students will no longer be able to use the playground and will need structured outdoor activities to do instead. To engage in learning centers, students will need their own containers with materials only they will use. I have purchased the containers, I am just laking enough materials. Students will be using these materials to express their thoughts creatively. They will be using these materials during learning centers at school. The learning centers are; Construction, writing, library, math, ABC, and art. In the construction center, students are very creative with the structures they build, this really gives them the chance to show their personality. The construction center helps students comprehend spatial awareness, and also helps with language development when describing their structures. In the writing center student will use a variety of material to express their thoughts as well. Having a variety of writing tools helps them enjoy writing and build fine motor skills. In the library center, students will have their own book boxes, with books in each box. students enjoy retelling stories and rereading their favorite books. In the math and ABC centers, students will engage in a variety of different activities with different math/literacy concepts. In the art center, students will have their own art box with a variety of art materials, such as watercolors, markers, crayons, play-do, etc, to express themselves creatively. For outdoor learning, students will engage in structured activities that let students have their own materials, such as their own toss ring or their own bean bag, etc. That way the students can still enjoy the outdoors!.
