With these two sets of identical titles, I will be able to select one high reader with one medium reader to low reader as Reading Buddy Partners. During a special reading time inserted into regular ELA instruction, I will allow freedom to select a title, explore on their own, and discover reading strategies previously taught. This includes text structure, questioning and characterization. The buddy system will teach compassion and coaching along with accountability. Many of my students do not have access to good books, this will encourage better choices. They will see the value and buy in to the idea that some learning is best explored with a friend.
