Playing recorders is the building block to introducing a love of music making and learning a new instrument. Constructive "noise" is the best type. While my students already do lots of singing, learning and exploring instruments at an early age will be vital to peaking these students interest in the fine arts from an early age. Learning the recorder not only encourages students to enjoy music, but it also helps them understand how to read music. Access to recorders from an early age will help to motivate these students to go home to practice what they have learned to their family members. The “Do It!” Recorded Method books will be the primary teaching aid used in teaching the recorder lessons and are vital to the success of this project.
