Reading is power! This is something I tell my scholars every time they claim to hate reading. "Reading is power" means reading is knowledge gained. It means the power to be creative, it means the power to advance reading skills and it means the power to understand the world from a new perspective. Our school wants our students to understand the power of reading and help them get lost in a fantasy world. In order to prove that reading is power, we have to provide students with books they want to read which will leave them feeling empowered. The hope is that with new, modern and relate-able books, our students will not only like to read but thrive on the stories and encourage others to read as well. Reading is power!
