My project will encourage students to add a 3 dimensional element to their research project. My students will be exploring plants and insects and the impact they have in our environment. As part of their research, they will create 3D insects as an extension of their learning to represent all parts of the insect, its environment, and food source. My students will use the 3D printer to create an insect model that they research. They will label their insect, create its environment, and its food source. This project will impact their learning because it is part of a 3 month project and includes challenging them to protect, appreciate, and develop their ability to be part of our vital ecosystem. I am hoping this project will inspire my students to want to create other 3D objects as another way to extend their learning in other areas, and develop their divergent thinking and innovative ideas.
