I am always thinking of what is the BEST way to make my students feel comfortable in an environment so learning can be EASY. This year my focus is on how I can develop a classroom that makes my students feel like they are Home. I started off changing my classroom environment with painting my room Orange. Orange is a color of Enthusiasm, Encouragement, Success, and HAPPINESS! This fits right with my theme this year which is Africa/Safari. I came up with this theme because working in a young African American populated school they do not know their history of where they came from. In order to bring my vision to life I need your help! The decorations, the flexible seating, the "cool down" area, the organization are some of the most important things needed in the classroom to make students feel at home and feel comfortable with their learning environment. With that being said, the bins, the different seat options, the wall decor, the lighting, the pillows, and the area rugs will be used to make the environment come to life. I can feel it in my soul that this year is going to be a year for the BOOKSSSSS and I thank all of you in advance for helping me bring my visions to life. My students will remember this classroom for being a home away from home!
