So many times children in urban education get very few books. The books they do have are missing pages, don't reflect them, aren't at their reading or interest level, or are duplicates of other books in the class. Please help our class to read! By helping the students read you're helping them to grow. With a variety of books my students will have more interest in reading. When the students are interested in reading they become invested in their education. I'm in one of the poorest districts around the country and I wish I could buy all these books myself. I have only a few to start off with, please help me to grow our library. I would love to have books like "Dreamers" and "Amazing Grace" that reflect diversity. Non-fiction books such as the National Geographic and Time Magazine Books "Sharks", "Weather", and "Dinosaurs". Books that support emotional health or growth such as "Making a Difference" and "What if everybody said that?". I wanted children to be exposed to social justice books like "Click Clack Moo" and gender equality such as "Pink is for Boys." My children will love stories that are different and will be able to learn and grow as strong readers if given the opportunity.
