Over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, a pipe burst in my classroom and soaked books, magazines, movies and much more. These were items that I purchased for my students to learn more about the culture in the language. The district is doing their best to replace some of what was lost but much of what was lost is no longer available. In order to get comprehensible reading material for the students that is relevant to them, we need your help. These magazines offer insight into the culture and inspire discussion by the students in the target language. After reading these articles they not only understand the language but they understand the culture and can apply much of the information across the curriculum as it includes information about science discovery, cuisine, sports, travel, music, and historical figures and events. By supporting this project you are helping students to better understand others and learn more about the world around them.
