The items I chose will help students who have escalated behaviors. Items such as the fidget sensory toys will allow them to have objects to de-escalate and help them by giving them appropriate objects to help calm them. The bean bag chairs allow alternate seating for students to sit or play in a relaxed position. The mood cards will allow students who are worked up to communicate their feelings without the need for conversation. We will use the sound machines to minimize external noises and to offer gentle soft music to help self-regulate. All objects chosen will help assist students in self-regulating their negative behaviors. The foam mats, florescent light covers, liquid spiral timer and stress balls will help to ensue a safe space for our students during a crisis situation. After being able to calm their bodies, the students will have access to play sand, buildable blocks, my choice flipbook and sequin fidgets to decompress before returning to their classroom. These items will allow our students to calm themselves down which will keep them in our schools and reduce suspensions! If students are able to de-escalate in a specific area, the learning continues for all other classmates and eventually the student will be able to return to class. This benefits ALL students! We will be allowing everyone to have a successful day full of learning and the supports that they each individually need! Please help them out!
